Babysitting Miley!

My friend Tenille had her prenatal check-up today. She only has like 4 weeks left! Lucky for us, we got to have Miley over while she was at her appointment. Lizzie LOVES Miley and always asks to go to her house or have her over, so needless to say this was a great day for Liz.

The only problem was, Lizzie assumed because Miley is younger, she'd want to be treated like a baby. Miley was a good sport and even let Liz hold her on her lap for awhile. It looked kinda silly considering they probably weigh close to the same weight, LOL!

I also realized today how mature Lizzie really is. She would bring me any coins or other little toys she'd find and say, "No Miley get it!" She knew those little objects could be dangerous for Miley and was a big helper. It was pretty awesome and gave me confidence in Lizzie's future big sister abilities : )

Quilt Progress!

So Sarah and I are making quilts at the same time, and we thought it would motivate us to see our projects through if we posted our updates on our blogs. I have seen her's in person and it is looking SUPER cute! I am still in the square cutting phase, but will probably put one block together soon to see how I like it so far.

I chose 4 fabrics for a disappearing 9-block pattern. I absolutely LOVE 2 of the fabrics, and kinda settled for the other 2, but we'll see. I may end up getting more fabric to give some more variety. These photos may not look like much, but the stack sure is heavy and believe me, it took awhile to cut each of these 7" by 7" blocks.
Lizzie will be going down for a nap soon, so then I'll have my chance to go at it again. I am determined to have everything cut by Saturday evening! Wish me luck.....

Go Huskies!

Our little diehard fan! hehe. Thanks to Auntie Ash for the sweet tattoo to show her team spirit!

Tomorrow night the Huskies will face Cal High again in the first round of playoffs. We beat them in pre-season, so let's do it again! Hope it doesn't rain....if I remember correctly, they have a dirt field. Not fun for anyone.

Halloween Fun!

It's not even Halloween and we've already had some Halloween fun! Friday night we went to a party at my cousins Tiff and Eric'splace. Saturday we went to my uncle and aunt's house in Brentwood. Lizzie had a blast at both and was so much fun to dress up! She made a cute little tiger, but my favorite was the fairy princess! Tomorrow night is our ward's "trunk-or-treat" so there are sure to be lots more cute little munchkins dressed up! Can't wait!

The fairy princess made a pumpkin appear out of nowhere! Wow!

She loved her tiger tail!

Lizzie's Big Week!

Last week was a big one for Lizzie. We took the crib down and now she is in a "big girl bed"! The first night we brought it home, Daddy and Uncle Ryan set it up and she was so excited! As bedtime approached, she became a little unsure of the idea so Mommy laid with her until she fell asleep. This was how I found her the next morning and when she first woke up. Love it.

The next day she had her first haircut! Tenille had cut her bangs once before, but this was an actual haircut. My sister was getting her hair done the same day, and Lizzie kept saying "Bia hair done." For those who don't know "Bia" is how she refers to herself most of the time. Don't ask me where it came from! You could see on her face how excited she was for this. Thanks again Tenille, she looks ADORABLE!

Big Sister in Training

Last week we had Ryan, Nina and Baby Madison over for dinner. Lizzie was pretty much at Madison's side the whole night, even during the diaper changes. It was really cute to watch and she was really very careful with her. I have a good feeling she will be ready when it's time to be Big Sis to her new baby brother. The highlight for Liz was when she got to hold baby Madison! I think you can see the excitement in her face. It almost looks like Madison (4 weeks old here) was smiling!

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

I had my 20-week ultrasound today and was shocked to find out I am having a boy! At first, he made it difficult for us to see with his legs crossed (just like big sis, Liz) but after some wiggles and shakes to my belly, he showed us! I'm so excited, but a little scared too. I feel so unprepared for this....

I come from a family of 4 girls and after I had Elizabeth, I thought for sure I was going to have all girls too. This really came as a BIG surprise and I am glad I didn't wait to be surprised at the birth because now I have time to prepare!!

It was really fun because we had Lizzie with us so she was able to see the baby and hear his little heartbeat. After we told her it was a boy, she kept saying, "I got boy!" We told her she is having a little brother and whether she gets that or not, she smiled and that made me happy. I held her as we walked to the car and said, "Lizzie, we're having a boy! What are we gonna do?" She shrugged her shoulders and in her cute little voice said, "I dunno!" Then, during the drive home she was waving her fist in the air chanting, "Brother! Brother! Brother!" It was so sweet. She totally melted my heart today : )

Here are some sonogram pics and I think Todd took a video of Liz, so I'll try and get that up soon too. By the way....almost everyone I have told has had the same reaction which is, "Todd must be so happy/excited." In reality, he could not care less. He seemed indifferent to the whole thing. As I recall, he had a huge smile and lots of excitement when we found out we were having a girl with Liz.....Oh well, he already has his daddy's girl, right? My turn!! Yay! So excited!

BABIES BABIES!

*Left: Tiffany with handsome baby Colton, right: Nina with beautiful baby Madison, middle: I think you know us!
I am just so excited right now because two of my favorite cousins (well they are my cousins' wives but I say cousins) just had their babies these last 2 weeks. Babies have definitely been the hot topic with the Wittmer side of the family lately! Ryan & Nina had their beautiful baby girl, Madison Ryan Wittmer on August 21st. Then, on September 2nd (barely, 11:55pm) Colton Michael Kenneth Wittmer was born to Eric, Tiffany and Big Sister Ashlyn (18 mos).

It is so much fun to see Lizzie with the new babies and gives me a really good feeling about how she will be as a big sister when we have our baby in February. With my other cousin due in March, my Grandma will have gone from 0 to 6 great-grandchildren in less than 3 years! She is super happy and always talks about what wonderful blessings babies are. Even when you already know it or feel the same way, it's nice to hear from other people once in awhile. Especially when you are having one those days with your terrible-two-toddler. It is good to be reminded in some way of how truly blessed you are to have them in your life. How wonderful it is that Heavenly Father gives us the opportunity to bring His children into this world. Building a family is the most fulfilling part of my life. I am so grateful for my little family!

Our Disney Princess

I was just looking through pictures and came across this one. Disneyland is seriously our favorite place. We love it! Lizzie has been twice now and just watching the movies and looking at the pictures from these trips gets her SO excited! And of course, everytime a Disneyland commercial comes on, she asks to go. Anyone know of any discounts or deals to make Disneyland trips a little more affordable? Let me know!

Can't hide it anymore.....

For those of you who don't already know, I'M PREGNANT!! I am about 14 weeks along now, due February 5th. It's not that I haven't been dying to tell everyone, but we decided to wait until I was further along to share our happy news!

I'm super excited because before Lizzie turned 1, we tried for about 8 or 9 months and I ended up having a miscarriage in January. The doctor said to wait 3 to 6 months to try again, so as soon as April hit we began trying and in May I was pregnant!!

Don't ask me what I am having because we decided to be surprised. However, for those of you who know me really well, know that patience is one of my biggest challenges in life so this won't be easy for me!! I am afraid the more people ask, the more I will be tempted to give in and find out......

Oh and I guess it's the second pregnancy thing, but I totally popped out real quick, which is why I say "can't hide it anymore". Don't think I haven't noticed the quick glances at my belly when we're talking face to face. I am sure people have been biting their tongues just in case I wasn't actually pregnant and was getting fat or something. Probably a good idea because I have been feeling a little mischievous lately and I just might have decided to tease you:

Friend: "So.....Heidi.....congrats! Why didn't you say anything? When are you due?"

Mischievous Heidi: "What? What are you talking about?"

Friend (blushing & sweating profusely): "Oh...umm.....nothing, never mind."

Heidi (laughing): "I'm just teasing you, I am totally pregnant."

THE END

Lizzie's 2nd Birthday

We had a "Finding Nemo" theme for Elizabeth's 2nd birthday on June 29th. It was lots of fun and Lizzie really enjoyed her special day. My mom and grandma made some yummy mexican food and we had the party at Todd's parents' house in Fremont. His sister, Kristin made an AWESOME Nemo cake and it was delicious! Check out her blog: http://www.kristinannbeck.blogspot.com/ His other sister Jana provided the beautiful photography from the day. I have one pic so far, but her blog is also worth checking out! http://www.janalaurene.blogspot.com/

This party was over a month ago, and still if you ask Liz about her birthday party, she replies "bam, bam (while swatting her hand).......CANDY(while jumping up and down)" Her pinata was the most memorable part, apparently. Pretty cute.

The Pathetic Blogger

You know you are a pathetic blogger when people have to hack into your account and update it because dust is actually starting to form over your layout.  Gosh, I am so horrible!  Then you have the people who you can tell that rather than sharing their lives on their blog, blogging actually IS their life.  Well I would like to find a nice middle ground. I know time management is a huge issue with me these days, but I really would like to be better about posting new info and pics every now and then.  Say, every two weeks or so.  Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

guest blogger...

dear heidi,

i hope you don't mind me hacking into your blog, i'm just really good at remembering things like passwords. i'm sorry you can't download pictures onto your computer, and therefore you are a stinky blogger. But since you happen to be one of my favorite sisters-in-law, and i probably have just about as many pictures of lizzie as you do, i thought i would sneak on and post one of the most recent that i've taken. i wanted a cute picture of her holding the painting i did for her - what do you think? if she looks tired, it's because she just woke up from her nap. but i still think she's the cutest.

well that's all. let me know if you want me to guest post again - i have plenty more pictures where that came from.

love you guys,
jana
